It's been a really busy summer for destination weddings. In between weddings, I squeezed some time in, whenever I could, to do a few styled shoots around Europe. This one was a little last minute but as I have been doing wedding planning in Italy for the last 10 years, I am fortunate to know lots of fantastic people in the wedding industry in Italy who all pulled together for a great morning on the gorgeous roof terraces of the venue Antica Torre di Via Tornabuoni, right in the centre of Florence which is perfect for an intimate, classy wedding in the centre of the city.
The wedding dress was designed by the very talented Irish wedding dress designer Sarah Foy. What I loved about this dress was not only the gorgeous shape and fabric, but also the sheer attached 'cape'. It gave the affect of a long veil but from the shoulders rather than from the hair. So it allows a bride to show off an intricate hairstyle or have a show stopping headpiece and still have the veil affect – best of both worlds! Johanna, a photographer friend of mine came along too, as did one of my wedding planner students, so we had lots of fun especially when the wind picked up and starting to whisk the dress's cape away!
Many thanks to Christina and Maria Rita at gorgeous wedding venue in Florence for helping to pull it all together and for being such great hosts! I couldn't recommend this venue more for it friendliness and professional service. Thanks to wedding makeup artist Silvia for doing such a great job with the hair and makeup under challenging windy conditions! Thank you to our gorgeous model in Italy Kristina from Look Now Model Management for being so patient and for not blowing away! And thanks to Violamalva for the beautiful wedding flowers and to the suppliers of confetti and guest gift props.
